Familiar words!

This morning Allicia said something that brought back some too familiar memories. As normal about 6:45 am I sent Kyle downstairs to tell Allicia it was time to get up. Her alarm clock had been going off for a couple minutes already, but it didn't matter because she was ignoring it. When he came upstairs I asked him if she was up...he followed by saying that she told him she was awake but just resting her eyes. I couldn't help but laugh. If you ask my parents, my sisters and I may have used that same line a time or two when we were kids! Funny how things come around.

Happy Valentines Day and Much More.....

Well first of all, as you can see below I have many items I have been meaning to post for awhile, but haven't gotten around to it until now. I'll start out by wishing everyone a very Happy Valentines Day! We're planning on spending our day with the kids. Apparently Kyle and Allicia have planned a special surprise for Dave and I. So later today John and Nancy (Dave's parents) will be helping them prepare their big surprise. I can't wait to see what they have planned. I hope all of you have as much fun on your Valentines Day as we will on ours.

My Big Helper!

My next post I find very humorous! Yesterday morning I asked Kyle if he could help me out by changing Ava's diaper, he of course said yes......so I was very happy. He did his thing and then went on with his business getting ready for school, etc. Later that morning after he had left for school Ava had another messy pants. So, I went to change it and when I took off her pj's this is what I found! (Picture on the left)

I couldn't help myself from laughing. As you can see the diaper is on all kittywampass and almost falling off. Kyle is obviously a rookie at diaper changing. I posted the second picture (on the right...a diaper changed my me) so you can compare and see just how funny his diaper really looked. Anyway....I just had to post this to get a few laughs, but I do want to say....I am very thankful for all of the help Kyle and Allicia give me with little miss Ava, even if it isn't always top notch work. :)

Student of the Quarter!

Kyle was nominated Student of the Quarter for 2nd quarter by his Advisory, Language Arts, Reading and Science Teacher, Mr Paul. Yesterday they held an assembly and small awards banquet for all of the students receiving this award and the award for Most Improved for 2nd quarter. Again, I was a very proud Mom to see and hear how well Kyle does in school. After the awards ceremony several of his teachers came up to us congratulating him and telling me how much they enjoy having Kyle in class. Way to go Kyle! Keep up the good work!

Caught in the Act!

My next post is kind-of a fun one. Most of the time Kyle and Allicia like to act as if they do not enjoy each others company, but below is proof that they really do like to have fun together.

Above is the last match at the tournament Kyle wrestled in this weekend. There was a three way tie for first, but Kyle ended up tieing for 2nd in the end based off of criteria. As you can see from the video he did awesome. Way to go Kyle!!!!

Allicia's conferences

Yesterday I met with Allicia's teacher for her 2nd Quarter conferences. She had many great things to say about Allicia. I was a very proud Mom to hear how well she has been doing. Allicia also came to the conferences with. It was great because she was able to hear the encouraging words from her teacher as well. She has been somewhat bummed that her brother has made the A honor roll and she hasn't. We have told her many times that they do not have honor roll in Elementary school, but that wasn't a good enough answer for her. I could tell she was comparing her grades to Kyle's and I didn't want her to feel like she wasn't doing as well as he was, because she was. Anyway, after meeting with the teacher Allicia feels much better about how she is doing in school. Mrs. Winter told her if there was an A honor roll in Elementary school, she would be on it. And if there was an A honor roll for effort, Allicia would have an A+++! She said Allicia is a very hard worker and takes her time making sure she always does her best work. It was a GREAT report! Way to go Allicia!!!!!!!!!!

I'm Back!

Well, I'm back and have taken control over my blog again. It seems as if Daddy Dave has enjoyed writing posts for our family blog. And to think....I had to force him to write the first one, now he wants to write the posts all the time. I do have to say...his humor is much better than mine, so I guess I won't change my nuclear password and I'll share the duties of our family blog with Daddy Dave. So look for future posts from Daddy Dave.
