Ahhhh.....

I'm just laying here relaxing while my Mom is away at yoga. Someone wake me when she's home and ready to feed me. Zzzzzzz.......

Too bad she didn't sleep this soundly the entire time I was gone. Apparently just before see feel asleep in this cute little pose, she was a screaming mess for no apparent reason. At least that is what her Daddy said. I'm not sure this sweet little thing could get that upset...do you?!?!?

Dr Appt and Shots

Today Ava had her 2 month checkup....which is actually her 3 month checkup since there wasn't an appointment available for her until now. Everything checked out well. She is a just over 14lbs which puts her in the 94% for weight and she was 25 1/2 inches long, which is 97%. So she is definitely a big girl. I was really surprised this weekend when I put her in a size 12 month pajama. It was a little big but not as big as it should have been for a 3 month old baby. I'm thinking she will grow up to be a very tall girl.

Ava also had her first round of immunizations. I forgot how hard that is to watch. Ava was very sad after her shots....she had such a sad cry. I felt so sorry for her. But the rest of the day went fairly well. She slept for quite a while, but was really smiley when she woke up. Other than a small fever....she took the shots fairly well.

1st Communion and Baptism

Today was a very special day. Allicia celebrated her First Holy Communion and Ava was Baptised. It was a beautiful service followed by a celebration at our house. We had a house full of all our family and friends. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so we all had to pack into our house...but it was a great day anyway.
Ava with Father Mahon and her God Parents....Carolyn (and Lionel in heart...we wish you could have been there), Gene and Steph Grover with their son Griffin, and my sister Kathy with her son Owen.

Going to the Circus!

On Friday Allicia had her school concert. The theme of the concert was "Going to the Circus". It was such a cute concert. Allicia's class had to dress like clowns and the other class dresses like animals. Her music teacher always does an amazing job with their performances...they are so fun to watch. Great job Allicia!

Happy Birhday Dave

Yesterday was Dave's birthday, so last night we celebrated by going to a nice supper with our dear friends Carolyn and Lionel. Granted it wasn't a spectacular get-a-way weekend like he surprised me with for my birthday, but that is ok….right??? Oh wait, I almost forgot…last year I did take him to Chicago for his birthday to see Wicked. So I guess that is ok…because every birthday can't be spectacular….can it?!?!? And not to mention this year we have a new baby! Anyway, we went to a new restaurant in Rochester named Pescara located in the Radisson Hotel. It was a great night with amazing food, great conversation, and great friends. Happy Birthday David!

Back to work!

Well yesterday was my first day back at work and Ava's first day with out her mommy (most importantly without her mommy's boobs...sorry I had to write it)! Anyway, it was a big (long) day for both of us, but even harder for Dave's Dad John. Ava spent most of the morning quite upset and inconsolable. When I checked on him mid morning the sounds on the other end of the phone were not good. I felt so bad and gave him a few suggestions....I told him I would call again in a few minutes to see if any of them had worked. When I called him back, things had improved because she had finally cried herself to sleep. Apparently she slept for quite awhile after that and at one point he packed her in car seat to take her to their house to let out the dogs. Once they arrived back at our house, she was still sleeping so well that instead of trying to take her in the house and risk waking this unhappy baby up, he would rather sit in the car with her until she woke up on her own. So the rest of the afternoon, John and Ava sat in the van in our garage...her sleeping and him reading a book. Things you do in desperation! I thought this was too funny! Anyhow...so far I think today is going much better.

BTW....Below are some pictures I posted on the My Charming Kids blog (the one of Ava on Stellan's name gallery and the one of me with a co-worker on the wear orange for Stellan)....today is a big day for Baby Stellan. My heart and prayers go out to him, his family, and the doctors that will be working on him today! God Bless! (sorry Ava's is sideways...it's not like that on my computer and I can't get it to cooperate with me. GRRR)
