Way to go Kyle!

Last weekend Kyle took a snowmobile safety class and earned a license to drive snowmobiles. I'm so proud of him and glad to know he will be safe when he is with his Dad.

It also made me aware that he is getting close to the age where he will start to drive a car. We were talking about it the other night and he informed me that it is only a short year and a half until he can get his permit! WHAT?!?!?!?! Seriously....a year and a half. That is not that far away. I think I will need anxiety medication when he is on the road. I will be worried all the damn time!!!!!!

House Project #2

This weekend was another very productive weekend. Dave and his Dad worked very hard to install a laminate wood floor in our dining room and kitchen. They look awesome. Below are some before and after pictures. I can't wait until we get the new countertops in the kitchen...that's next weekend’s project.

Update on Ava!

Well it's almost time for Ava's 1st birthday and with the 1st birthday usually comes walking. Recently we have had Ava seen at Mayo by Pediatric Orthopedics because we noticed she was struggling to walk on her own. She has been pulling herself up on things and walking around things for some time, but just hasn't started walking on her own, mostly because she trips on her feet. After meeting with the Doctor they diagnosed her with Tibial Torsion (Intoeing). At this point there isn’t anything they do to treat it, but if she doesn’t start to walk on her own by 17 months we will have her seen again. If/when she does start to walk on her own, she will likely continue to struggle with walking until she can compensate for it and learn how to “fix” it so she doesn’t trip. Thankfully the Doctor said it is something she could likely outgrow (usually by age 6), but if not surgery could be an option. Most of the time children choose to have surgery because they are teased about how they walk or stand. So, hopefully she will outgrow it…until then we will keep an eye on her and see what comes of it.

A few updates....to the house that is.

This weekend Dave and my Dad started a few updates to our house in hopes of helping the house sell since it is going on 9 months now since we have had it on the market. Today we changed out the counter tops, faucets, and light fixtures in the bathrooms. I also went shopping and bought a new shower curtain and towels for the kid’s bathroom. Below there are a couple before and after pictures. The next project on our list is to change out the kitchen countertops and put in a laminate wood floor in the kitchen. Stay posted for more pictures when that project is complete.
